It isn’t long now until the Eat Out To Help Out scheme launches, offering customers 50 per cent discount at restaurants in a bid to help the hospitality industry following lockdown.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the initiative earlier this month at his mini-Budget, explaining that customers dining out from Monday-Wednesday during the month of August could take advantage of the deal, potentially saving up to £10 per person including children.
The Government has already launched advice for those businesses who want to take part – but when will you be able to find out which restaurants closest to you are participating, and who has signed up already?

When will the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out website launch?
The Government has said the service people will be able to use to find a restaurant will launch by 31 July.
That’s ahead of the scheme beginning on 3 August and running through until the end of the month.
People will be able to search for restaurants participating in the scheme by using their postcode, with results of all those taking part within a two -mile radius being given.
Participating establishments may include anywhere that serves food, including restaurants, cafes, work and school canteens, food halls and pubs and bars where applicable – although the discount will not apply to alcoholic drinks and service charges.
Businesses that want to take part will need to register on Gov.uk, and will also have to be Food Standards Agency approved in order to offer the discount.
Customers who take part will have the discount automatically applied to their bill, with the government then reimbursing the restaurant directly within five working days.
However the discount will only apply to those eating in on those days of the week – and does not apply to takeaway or delivery orders.
