Riverside and San Bernardino counties moved into the orange tier this week. Doesn’t that sound refreshing?

What that means is that there is progress in the battle against the novel coronavirus and that restaurants are allowed to expand indoor dining to 50 percent and that bars can be open without food service.

But there’s more going on that’s cool, including new sushi restaurants in Montclair and Riverside, recipes to make the most of spring produce and how to find someone who will do all of the work that comes with having a high-end picnic.

The move that takes away limits on how many customers retail stores can serve inside and allow restaurants to open at 50% capacity. Read more.

Among other changes, bars that don’t serve food can open outdoors, bowling alleys can open at 25% capacity, and breweries and wineries can open indoors with modifications. Read more.

These picnics can be as simple as a table and pillows over a blanket with a few decorations for two people, or feature everything from private chefs to a pop-up movie screen and a popcorn machine. Read more.
