It seems like everyone is baking sourdough these days as a way to deal with being stuck at home. If you want to hop on the sourdough therapy train, but don’t want to go on a scavenger hunt for flour, you can do what Brad A. Johnson did — outsource your therapy.

Johnson bought a loaf of sourdough from an Orange County chef and it was as close to perfect as he could imagine.

“The sourdough is pure artistry,” Johnson writes. “It’s also really good therapy, even if you didn’t bake it yourself.” Read more.

Restaurants reflect, strategize

Restaurateurs across Southern California say the novel coronavirus is unlike anything they’ve experienced because it hit so suddenly and the timeline for reopening is uncertain. Still, those restaurant owners say they are not giving up. Read more.

Snoop Dogg keeps taking on new business ventures, from DJing to starring alongside Martha Stewart in a cooking show to writing a cookbook, and now the famous Long Beach rapper can add winemaker to his resume. Richard Guzman has more.

Cathy Thomas loves potatoes, so much that if she’s trying to decide between dishes at a restaurant, it’s often the one with the potato side dish that sways her.

She’s a fan of these fanned potatoes that are cooked in butter, garlic and broth and stuffed with bay leaves. She hopes you will be, too. Read more.
