"Well, Mother's Day is Sunday," "Saturday Night Live" cast member Kenan Thompson sang, kicking off one of a few musical sketches in the season finale.
"Father's Day's in June," noted Cecily Strong.
"It's been (a) hard-(expletive) time for families," Beck Bennett added."
"Feel like animals in a zoo," Aidy Bryant chimed in.
"Parents could use some help these days. Kids could use some too," they took turn singing." So given the special circumstance, we'd like to introduce a special rule."
What might that be?
"LET KIDS DRINK."
"Just like Mom and Dad," argued Strong and Bennett. "If they got a little buzz on, would it really be so bad?"
Plus, Bryant argued, "They used to give kids whiskey to help them fall asleep. So a teeny, tiny White Claw is just a babysitter on the cheap!"
Bennett noted, "They let kids drink wine in France, a bottle or two a day."
Strong sealed the deal: "We asked Child Services and they said it was OK!"
So let the kids have a cocktail. "Two if they've been good," Bennett suggested.
"Babies look drunk anyway," argued Ego Nwodim.
"They burp and puke just like I would!" Bryant added.
They even enlisted "Frozen" star Josh Gad to help drive home their point: "Let kids drink. Disney said it's fine ..." before looking at the lyrics sheet and asking "what is this?"
