You can get paid $15,000 to drink water this summer, after a company announced a plan to hire a "chief thirst officer" for eight weeks.

They say getting paid to sleep is the ultimate job, but making money to drink water might come a close second.

Seeing as you should be doing it every day anyway—for free—you ought to be more than qualified for Hydrant's latest position.

The company, which makes hydration supplements to add to water, is looking to pay $15,000 for an eight-week stint—which works out to about $267 a day.

Hydrant said: "As our chief thirst officer, you'll be the authority on all things hydration, making sure our audience is never thirsty (like never, ever). It starts with something as simple as drinking 8 glasses of water a day (with Hydrant, of course). Once it kicks in… the world is your oyster."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says drinking water has various health benefits: "[It] can prevent dehydration, a condition that can cause unclear thinking, result in mood change, cause your body to overheat and lead to constipation and kidney stones.

"Most of your fluid needs are met through the water and beverages you drink. You can get some fluids through the foods that you eat—especially foods with high water content, such as many fruits and vegetables."

The CDC does not specify a daily recommended intake for adults. In the U.K, the National Health Service suggests adults should drink between six to eight glasses of fluids a day.

Hydrant's chosen candidate will be expected to share a minimum of three videos a week to social media, so will need to be a pro at angles and lighting.

The ideal person will need to "love the spotlight" and be up to speed with the latest pop culture trends. Hydrant added: "You spend way too much time on social media. Hello, Tech Neck! You've learned a lot over the past year, thanks to TikTok. How to make whipped coffee, some type of bread, or all the moves to 'Savage.'"

In order to apply, you'll need to post an online video at least 15 seconds long, tagging Hydrant and explaining why you're the perfect person for the job.

The company added that the clip should "tell us why you're thirsty. Show us how thirsty you are. Tell us what your first move as our chief thirst officer would be. Show us the most creative way to drink a Hydrant."

Applications are open from June 23. The winner will be announced next month, chosen based on "the most creativity, engagement with the contest, and of course just how thirsty you are to win." To find out more, click here.
