We all know and love Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, but there is a new flavor hitting grocery store shelves in April—complete with cinnamon basketballs that will make it rain in your bowl, the company just announced. And in honor of the launch, the cereal brand is doing something for the first time ever and partnering with an athlete and offering up a spot on the front of the box.
Basketball Hall of Fame member Shaquille O'Neal is featured alongside Tony the Tiger and inside, Frosted Flakes mixed in "crispy, mini cinnamon-dusted basketball-shaped pieces" with the regular sweet bits, creating a slam dunk partnership. The new cereal will be available for a limited time starting later this spring, the brand tells Eat This, Not That!. Although it's the first time this man-to-man coverage has meant a new face on the box, Shaq has long been a fan of the cereal. Back in 2010 as a player on the Boston Celtics—well, as a 7 foot 1, 345-pound player—he said he eats a ton of cereal, mainly Frosted Flakes. He called them a "Super Enhancement Cereal" and said, "That's the only thing I've put into my body." Even earlier, in 1998, he blamed eating too much of the cereal for memory loss after criticizing coach George Karl, according to CNBC.
