Disturbance: Mayfield Road
A man, 41, reported Aug. 21 that a woman threw an iced drink at him while they were in line at True North Shell after she argued with him about not wearing a face covering.
Officers spoke to the woman, 38, over the phone and she said she had asked the man to step back from her. She said he became belligerent and told her he would meet her in the parking lot.
The incident is under review by the prosecutor.
Disturbance: Mayfield Road
Officers responded to BP 7-Eleven Aug. 23 regarding a report of a customer who was upset with the clerk for not selling him wine. He claimed it was a racial issue. Officers helped calm the man, and he left without further incident.
Suspicion: Jackie Lane
A resident said Aug. 23 that an unknown person had come into her yard and taken her “back the blue” sign and thrown it in her neighbor’s trash. The granddaughter of a neighbor was determined to be responsible. She was advised that she could be charged with trespassing if it happened again.
Theft: Sunset Road
A resident reported Aug. 23 that four Donald Trump signs had been stolen from his yard overnight. No witnesses were identified.
Disturbance: Landerhaven Drive
Officers assisted the staff at the Staybridge Suites in evicting 20 to 25 guests from a room around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 22. Several of the youths had been let into the hotel through different entrances.
Disturbance: Mayfield Road
A woman caused a disturbance at T-Mobile Aug. 22 after she was refused service for not wearing a face covering. She said the staff made racial comments toward her.
An employee said the woman was told two days in a row that she was required to wear a mask when in the store.
Officers advised the woman to contact the store’s corporate office to file a complaint about the service.
Theft: Golden Gate Plaza
A woman was suspected of stealing two sets of hair clippers from Sally Beauty Supply Aug. 21. She was not located or identified.
Animal at large: West Miner Road
A woman, 38, was cited for animals running at large Aug. 20 after her pit bull charged at another resident who was mowing his lawn.
Trespassing: Mayfield Road
A 25-year-old resident was cited at Walmart Aug. 25 for criminal trespassing. Loss prevention had observed him concealing two candy bars in his clothing. He had been banned from the store in 2019, but claimed he had no knowledge of that.
Traffic altercation: Mayfield Road
A man reported Aug. 26 that a fountain drink was thrown at his vehicle from another vehicle that he did not allow to cut in front of him.
Officers stopped the suspect vehicle in the area and found it occupied by three people, all of whom denied throwing a drink.
The driver, a 26-year-old Warrensville Heights man, was subsequently cited for driving under suspension and was arrested on an active felony warrant out of Cuyahoga County for probation violation for dangerous drugs. A small amount of marijuana and a scale were found in the vehicle.
Sex offense: Temple Avenue
A woman reported Aug. 25 that her 15-year-old daughter had a boy, 17, come to their home to help with schoolwork and he forced himself on her. The incident is under investigation.
