FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. --The sun was shining and the weather was gorgeous on Sunday; a perfect setting to eat outside.
But that’s only part of the reason many restaurant customers were choosing that option. It’s a reaction to all the coronavirus restrictions.
We spoke with a number of patrons at Antonella’s Restauranti in the downtown Fayetteville area. The restaurant serves about 65 to 100 customers a day. Many of those people talked about not having to wear a mask as they dined outside. Many were still practicing social distancing, but not feeling cluttered or confined as they did so. Being able to relax and enjoy a beautiful downtown was just a bonus.
Others say it reminded them of what life was like before the pandemic hit.
The Cool Spring Business District of Fayetteville tells Spectrum News 1 there are 18 places in the downtown area that serve outside meals.
