GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Dutch Bros Coffee will hold its annual fundraising event “Drink One for Dane” on Friday, May 8, but there will be a new digital option for those looking to donate.
Drink One for Dane is the coffee chain’s largest fundraising event each year. The fundraiser honors Dane Boersma, Dutch Bros co-founder, who passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Scleroris (ALS). All proceeds go directly to ALS community and to help find a cure for the disease.
Coffee stands remain open and will still be available for those looking to donate while picking up their morning coffee. A portion of proceeds from sales at shops will be donated.
In support of social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dutch Bros will also offer an exclusive mug and sticker combo online.
Ten dollars from every mug and sticker sold will support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“During this unprecedented time, raising a toast to my brother, the wiseman, is one way to share hope,” said Travis Boersma, co-founder and CEO. “Dane set the standard for giving at Dutch bros and inspired so many people- continuing our commitment to ending ALS is the perfect way to honor him. Let’s make it a great day and drink one for Dane.”
Mugs and stickers will go on sale Friday. They can be purchased here.
Dutch Bros has several locations across the Inland Northwest, including in North Spokane, downtown Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.
