Autumn Arch Beer Project, Glasgow, rolled out its first-ever collaboration with Revelation Craft Brewing Company, based in Rehoboth. The brews were aged in barrels from a well-regarded brand of bourbon.

The collaboration dubbed “Path of the Sun” is set to include one bottle inspired by each brewery that will be sold as a two-pack

The bottle from Autumn Arch contains imperial stout aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels for five months with a raspberry addition in the final month. Heavy fruit and roast flavors are followed by oak and bourbon notes. The alcohol content is 13 percent.

The label bottle from Revelation uses cocoa nibs and Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrel aging. The dark and heavy stout also has 13 percent alcohol content.

The offerings will be sold as a two-pack for $36 while supplies last.

The Autumn Arch Beer projectwas founded by brothers and University of Delaware engineering grads.

Revelation has breweries and tasting rooms in Rehoboth and Georgetown in Sussex County, and seasonal beer gardens. The company’s offerings are also available in selected liquor stores.

Winter Ready Restaurant Program gets additional funds…

The New Castle County Council recently approved an additional $200,000 in CARES Act funds for the Winter Ready Restaurant Grant Program (for a total of $500,000).

The grant application and frequently asked questions are available from the Committee of 100, which administer the grant program.

Applicants can be Independent locally-owned restaurants and Delaware-based franchises, with a permit for outdoor space, whether it is for a temporary parklet or sidewalk cafe or a permanent, private patio. Establishments without outdoor permits are encouraged to apply for the grant while they are pursuing the appropriate permit.

Up to $5,000 can be requested to cover the costs of winterization, including tents, awnings/side panels, heaters, propane, lighting, and furniture,, with reimbursement for recent eligible purchases. Applicants must ensure that proper New Castle County Land Use or municipality permitting has been followed to ensure grantees do not violate the county code. Funds must be spent by December 31.

Nuevo Taco closes

Leo Cabrera has closed his Rehoboth Beach restaurant Nuevo Taco for good and moved to Pennsylvania. Nuevo Taco had closed for the season in October.

Nuevo Taco may have been better known as Leo’s Modern Mixture. Offerings were more imaganative that your everyday Mexican restaurant and attracted a loyal following.

Cabrera rebranded and shifted toward the popular street food offering. A second Modern Mixture operated for a brief time in Milton.

Cabrera announced via Facebook the restaurant was sold to a talented chef and his wife but offered no other details.
