MARYLAND — It's safe to say that 2020 has been one huge dumpster fire. And believe it or not, it's finally coming to an end.
As excited as we are to kiss this year goodbye, we can't forget that it's still risky to gather with members of other households.
In Maryland, all bars, restaurants, and venues that serve food and alcohol must close at 10 p.m., except for the purposes of carryout and delivery. Depending on where you live in the state, your favorite neighborhood spot might not even allow indoor or outdoor dining (both are shut down in Baltimore City).
But here's the thing: you don't need to bar-hop in Fells Point or attend a soiree at MGM National Harbor to ring in the new year. You can still revel in the festivities at home with a boozy seasonal drink.
What's great is you don't have to be a world-class mixologist to make an awesome beverage. All you need are a few simple ingredients and a little inspiration from experts in the field.
Patch spoke with three bartenders and bar owners in Maryland to learn how to make some easy, yet special, New Year's Eve drinks. Here are their takes on the perfect libation:

- Shake it then strain over ice.
