Drink Recipe: A Presidential Highball - Cowboys and Indians

lemperbon.blogspot.com

As if we need another excuse for a cocktail, this craft bourbon maker has just given us a couple more.

Yellowstone Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey from Limestone Branch Distillery has arrived just in time with a cocktail recipe that meets our seasonal needs.

First, the recipe honors a president — even if purported whiskey lover Ulysses S. Grant is said to have cut back on his rumored prodigious drinking by the time he occupied the White House.

A few nips might just take the edge off of a particularly fraught election season. And! — purchases of the award-winning brand benefit a good cause.

For each bottle of Yellowstone Select that’s sold, a portion is donated to the National Parks Conservation Association, which helps protect our national parks.

Yellowstone Select takes its name from America’s famous first national park. On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses Grant signed the Act of Dedication law that created Yellowstone National Park. Later that same year, Yellowstone bourbon was crafted “to honor the park’s sprawling historic wonder and pioneering spirit.”

As for drinking something to honor all of the above, straight up’s always good, but this cherry-on-top situation is a bit sweeter way to get your bourbon on this presidential season and do your patriotic bit to preserve our national parks.
