Night Moves Hospitality—the group behind Space Cowboy in the Heights and Trash Panda Drinking Club in Lindale Park—is partnering with the owner of Live Oak Grill at 10444 Hempstead Road, Houston, to reopen the eatery Oct. 15 with an all-new food and drink menu, officials announced in an Oct. 7 press release.
The neighborhood bar, which first opened in 2001, closed in September to undergo minor renovations, according to the release. The venue is known for its front patio—which is shaded by five 130-year-old live oak trees—and its location inside a historic home built in 1915.
“We’re excited to partner with new operators who’ve already opened two successful concepts this year,” owner John Ganim said in a press statement. “I purchased this property 20 years ago to build a warehouse but couldn’t bring myself to tear down the historic home and beautiful oak trees.”
Live Oak will feature 20 beers on tap in addition to canned beers, frozen cocktails and traditional cocktails, such as a pear Moscow mule and cucumber mojito. The food menu includes pub, fare such as shrimp poboys, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken fried steak and boudin balls.
The patio seats more than 80 people and features lawn games, four TVs, two large projector screens and an outdoor playground for children that can be used through 8 p.m.
All food and drinks will be half-price on reopening day, Oct. 15.
