NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio
Disorderly conduct, Royalton Road: On Feb. 23, police were dispatched to a Royalton Road restaurant about a drunk patron.
An arriving officer talked do the manager, who said the man in question arrived at the location, had two drinks and then became too intoxicated to function.
The officer talked to the man, who slurred his words, could barely keep his eyes open and continually dropped his head.
When told it was time to go, the customer had a hard time standing up, as well as putting on his jacket. The manager said the man ordered three doubles.
However, it was only after drinking the first two that he started exhibiting intoxication. It also turned out the man -- who hadn’t been at the bar for a few years -- previously became too intoxicated at the establishment to the point he was only allowed to order one drink.
He was arrested for disorderly conduct intoxication.
Drunken driving, Royalton Road: On Feb. 20, police observed a speeding dark-colored passenger car lacking rear license plate illumination traveling southbound on York Road.
The officer pulled over the Strongsville man, who smelled like booze and marijuana, on Royalton Road heading in the opposite direction of his Whitney Road home.
Not only did the man have beer and Fireball whiskey in his backseat but he admitted coming from the Sand Trap Grill & Bar.
When asked about the odor, the driver denied smoking but did admit to having two beers. After failing a field sobriety test, during which he lost his balance, the man was arrested for drunken driving.
During a search of the vehicle, police found three baggies of marijuana, two sets of rolling papers and a small bottle of Fireball whiskey.
He was also cited with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container and no rear license plate illumination.
