FLINT , MI – Drinks and food with a view – a rooftop view of Flint’s downtown, that is.
Simmer Rooftop Lounge is a new bar in downtown Flint taking the city to new heights with its rooftop location, crafted cocktails and farm-to-table inspired bites.
It is located atop the five-story wing of the Hilton Garden Inn Flint Downtown and features a view of the city, small plates, and areas to sit.
The bar’s name is derived from Sauce, the first-floor restaurant, as in to allow the sauce to simmer. The casual lounge is decked with heaters for chilly nights, and awnings to offset different weather conditions.
The small plate menu features options such as calamari, fried artichokes, melon prosciutto salad, poached colossal shrimp, lemon zest burrata, hot honey almonds and flatbreads among other offerings.
Customers can also take their pick from nine specialty cocktails available at the bar. Some of those include the Watermelon Weather-Ball, Basil Lemonade and Black Manhattan.
The lounge will be open from 5-11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Reservation requests will be taken from 5-6:30 p.m., with the remainder of the night open to walk-in customers with a limited capacity of 70 diners in total.
The bar is located at 110 W. Kearsley St. in downtown Flint. Simmer is accessible through the hotel lobby and an elevator ride to the sixth floor.
