This season of HBO's Hard Knocks has been a bit of a snoozefest, but it has succeeded at one thing: Making Jerry Jones more relatable.
In an early episode, the billionaire Cowboys owner started his day off with some sort of breakfast sandwich that looked like a McGriddle and added salt to that bad boy. When he was asked about it on his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones spoke like a man after my own cholesterol-filled heart, "They put that salt shaker on tables for a reason."
In Tuesday night's episode, Jones professed his love for Whataburger.
Making an appearance at Saturday's Denton Ryan-Longview high school football game at The Star in Frisco - it's aptly called the Jerry Jones Classic presented by Whataburger - Jones was shown on the sidelines talking with some Whataburger representatives when he asks one of his assistants, "About how many trips a week do you make to Whataburger for me?"
"Oh, at least five times," the assistant replied.
If it's good enough for the 78-year-old man worth an estimated $8.9 billion, according to Forbes, then it's good enough for the rest of us.
Jones also was very specific how he likes his Whataburger.
"I like Whataburger untouched," Jones said on the sidelines. "I don't care if it's been sitting there for an hour and a half, I'd rather have it that way than warmed up. I don't warm it up. I like the original flavor when it's coming out the sack."
When you're one of the 300 richest people in the world, I suppose you have someone pick up Whataburger for you, and that means sometimes it's cold. Imagine if he got that bag piping hot, fresh from the drive-thru window.
